Cherri Os Boys

Bob was getting a snack of Chocolate Cheerios - don't knock 'em until you try them. They are DE licisous. Jake grunted and groaned until Bob gave him some in his own bowl. Jake sat right down on the kitchen floor to enjoy them. So, Bob joined him.

Kid Pics

Bit It

Bob took the kids outside today. It was a gorgeous St. Patrick's Day here. Almost 60 degrees out there. I was stuck inside an office building watching crazy parade goers go nuts.

Anywho - Jake couldn't stay away from the driveway, I guess. All he wanted to do was run up and down the driveway. Bob tried to steer him to the grass, but he would b-line for the drive. Just as they were going to go inside, Jake made a mad dash for the drive. And splat - landed on his face on the driveway. I guess he cried pretty hard and he is now marked with his first official boo boo.

Cute boy before the spill

Cute boy nursing his woes and scraps.

Cute boy, can't stand still, constantly on the go. Pretty soon, we will be retiring those PJs. How sad.

Nothing but Mess

We have been trying to allow Jake to be more independent at meals. I have been serving his food on a plate and giving him utensils so he can learn how to eat like a big boy. At first, he played more with the plate than he did his food - but a lot of that has changed now.

For tonight's dinner, we had turkey breast, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Jake loved his food. A little more than everyone else. Here's the proof.

Better than his 1st B-day

Tonight was a TOTAL exception from the norm. We had dessert after dinner. To make sure that Jake didn't feel left out, I gave him a small piece of cake on his own plate. He loved it and did try to use his fork with it. However, his chocolately face and hands were much more fun to watch than on his 1st b-day.

Jake on his 1st bday. I don't remember if I posted these pictures or not. Not that he isn't adorable, but they are not the smash it all to bits, on your face, mess-o-rama that you really hope for on the 1st b-day. He was so gentlemanly.

Gotta love him.

Mr. Mobile Update

I have been trying to get some recent pictures of Jake, but he just won't stay still. He is literally running around the house these days. Our house is a maze of gates to keep him from climbing up the stairs, going in the bathroom, keeping him from the basement, etc. Oh, yes, he is climbing too. He can make it up to the landing of the staircase, which is 6 stairs - no problem. And then he is so proud of himself, he doesn't know what to do from there.

At his 1 year appointment, he was 95% for height but only 50% for weight. Everything else is going really well for him. He did have a slight ear infection, so he is taking antibiotics for them. I was surprised about his weight, only because he seems to eat anything and EVERYTHING we put in front of him. I guess all of that running around, really does burn off the calories.

Gotta love it - him smashing Rice Krispies into his mouth.

Fun in the Leaves

The weather has been unseasonably GORGEOUS for this time of year. I will TAKE IT!! So, we have been taking the kids outside so they can enjoy the weather and we can get a little yard work done - yeah right. But this morning, I took the opportunity to take some pictures of the kids hanging around (literally - Celie) and playing in the leaves. It is amazing how big they are getting.

On the Move

Here is Jake walking in a pile of leaves in our front yard. He is walking all over the house. Well, I should say, that he walks about 15 steps, then falls down, then gets up and does it all over again - and again and again. He is definitely on the move now.

Halloween @ School

The girls had a Halloween Parade at school. Me, being the nervous parent - more nervous for Bob having to deal with both girls and Jake at the parade - thought it probably wouldn't be a great idea for the girls to have complicated costumes - because if they LOVED them too much, then they wouldn't want to take them off - and the parade was only for 15 minutes. So, Celie decided that it was OK for her to be KaiLan - who is a character from Nick Jr. She is a chinese and has a lot of friends and she speaks English and Chinese - Celie will often call things by their chinese name. So, here is a picture of the girls - with Jake in the KaiLan outfits - Anna decided that it would be fun to be her too. Didn't Bob do a great job on their pigtails & bows? I am very proud of him. And Jake for surviving being between the two.

Jake - the Man

Even with a bad cold, snotty running nose, the little fella is still a pretty happy camper. This picture was taken of him about a week or so ago. His cold is better now and he is still a pretty happy camper - most of the time.

Look Mom No Hands

Jake has been flirting with danger lately. No matter how close you get the tray to his high chair to him, he seems to manage to wiggle about and STAND UP in his highchair. Yes, there are straps on the high chair, but they do not work right - too many contortions or something from before. Anyway. We needed another feeding plan. So, we decided to find the booster seat. He LOVES it. We can strap him in and he is able to sit at the table with us and he feels like his is part of the family - which he is of course. He loves to feed himself and we are giving him more and more grown up foods too. He is definitely a good eater. Hmmmm. Wonder who he takes after in that department?

Fall Photo shoot

I absolutely love getting pictures of the kids in the fall and then getting a good one and using it in our x-mas card/letter. I had planned on trying to take it this year with coordinating outfits, everyone looking at me and smiling. HA! Dream world, I know, but I do believe that I got some great pics of the kids - what do you think?

Snuggle Bunny

I do not remember the girls being such snuggle bunnies - not like Jakers. The girls would fall asleep on our shoulders or chest, but tonight Jake just wanted to be held. Every time I put him on my lap, he would turn toward me and crawl up onto my chest. He wasn't sleeping, just looking up me, 1/2 asleep - almost drunk like - and smiling. How could I resist such good cuddling time with him. I just enjoyed my little snuggle bunny.

Two Tooth Wonder

Bob & Jake were supervising while the girls and I decorated sugar cookies.

Jake now has two bottom teeth and we think - do to his recent behavior - that the top ones are on their way.
